Château La Croix des Pins. Famille PetitJean, Terroirs d’exception en Vallée du Rhône et en Champagne.

An estate steeped in history

Our estate has been the scene of many projects over the centuries. The building first belonged to the pontifical government, then, bought by an apostolic notary in 1735, it remained in the same family until the 1980s! It was successively used as a country house, a farm, a silkworm farm... before becoming a wine estate under the Avon family. In 2010, Eric Petitjean took over the estate, accompanied by his oenologist friend Jean-Pierre Valade.

Construction of the building

The building's origins are religious, hence its cross, chapel and meditation path... It was built by a prelate of the pontifical government, who wanted to have a Tuscan-style house built for himself.

1998

Obtaining the organic label

A forerunner and pioneer in the region, the estate went organic in 1998.

2010

Taking over the estate

We took over the estate, launched renovations to the building and vineyard, and bought 4ha of Beaumes-de-Venise and 7ha of Gigondas from Domaine de Cassan.

2024

The story continues...

The 2nd generation arrives on the estate, with Jérôme Petitjean and his wife Sarah, to boost sales and wine tourism.

Today, in addition to benefiting from the advantages of unique terroirs, the work carried out since 2010 in the vineyard and in the cellar is being fully realized, and can be felt in the tasting.

The winery underwent a major expansion in 2022: new equipment for parcel selections and grape variety separation was installed, giving us even greater freedom and possibilities, and guaranteeing the quality of our wines.

Terroir, cuvées,
commitments

At La Croix des Pins, we are committed to protecting our environment. Our values include above all respect for people and nature. We adopt a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach based on respect for the environment and the well-being of our team.

Our estate practices organic farming, preserving biodiversity and soil quality for future generations. For us, organic farming is not just a label, it's a commitment.

The wines

Embodying the creativity of our winemaker Jean-Pierre Valade, our white, red and rosé wines have been produced organically since 1998 for Ventoux, and since 2012 for Gigondas and Beaumes-de-Venise.
